Let’s Talk about Ron’s Hamburgers and Chili in Broken Arrow
Let’s talk about the Broken Arrow Ron’s. Yeah, they are known for their chili. And while I love their chili, that is not why I go. I am there for one of the big boys of Tulsa burgers, a double Ron’s special! What is a double Ron’s special you ask? It is two thinly smashed 1/3-pound patties (I request grilled onions cooked into the meat), loaded high with layers of American and Pepper Jack cheeses, bacon, and ham. Whaaat? Ham too? Yes, ham too, and I am not talking about deli ham slices. I am talking about thick slices of actual ham. The flavors meld together like nothing I have ever seen. As you wield one of these goliaths to your burger chamber, your hands become saturated in meat, cheese, and ham juice. Damn, excuse me for a moment, just describing this burger is prompting me for a cold shower… (Pause for 2 minutes.) Alright, I am back, and let me tell you, this really is an experience no burger lover should miss!
And what is an amazing burger without fries? You don’t have to worry there because the Broken Arrow Ron’s has you covered. Not only do they have great fries, but they are fresh cut fries. A little warning here… With this big ass burger, you will be tempted to stick with the half order of fries. Don’t even think about it. A full order is double the size for only an additional 70 cents. And if you are feeling extra brave, you can amp your fries up. They have Spanish fries loaded with grilled onions and Jalapenos, or Chili cheese fries with some of the best chili you will find anywhere. Every time I go to Ron’s I tell my better half, there is no way in hell I am going to eat all of this, but somehow, I do. And… I never regret it!
I do have one warning before going to Ron’s… Not all Ron’s are the same. I have gone into a couple of Ron’s and have been greatly disappointed. After indulging at the Broken Arrow location, I have gone into other locations with grand expectations. Some have gone to frozen fries, others have weird fees for certain burgers, and some use different ham on their Ron’s special etc. Nothing is more irritating than dropping twenty bucks or so after tip and hating your meal. It can make a man fantasize about doing some gouch kicking! All of that to say Ron’s can run the gamut from trash to amazing, and the Broken Arrow Ron’s is by far the best Ron’s I have had. Similar menus, but the food varies greatly.
What else is there to say? The burger is great! The fries are great! The portions are huge, and I always love the service. A down home type of experience with plenty of smiles, Honey’s and Darlin’s. If you don’t leave this place with a full stomach and heart, you don’t have them.
BA Ron’s is the BEST hands down!!! And their fried chicken bites are amazing too!
A gal after my own heart!!
