Let’s Talk about Swan Brothers Dairy

by | Apr 15, 2022

Let’s talk about milk! Swan Brothers Dairy is the only place I know locally that has real milk. I’m not talking about that heavily pasteurized, homogenized stuff they call milk at Walmart. I’m talking about the real deal Holyfield. The stuff you have to shake before you drink. You know… The stuff cookies were made for!

I remember being told about real milk several years ago. I was told I had to try Swan Brothers milk. My initial thought was “Raw milk? Ewe disgusting.” That was before I tried it. I drove down there, bought me a gallon, shook that mofo up, and took a drink. I don’t even know how to explain it. I mean it tastes like milk, meaning there’s no weird taste to it, but it’s just better. I don’t even drink milk. I use it to cook with now and again, but that’s it. However, for some reason when I take a drink of real milk, I can’t stop, it’s so good. A little life hack here… Nobody will complain about you drinking out of the container if you drink it all! This is why I couldn’t get a job at a dairy. When the unemployment office asked why I got fired, the reason for separation would be suckling!

Claremore is so far out of the way I don’t make it down there much. But when I do, I always grab some milk. I was a little sad this trip. Apparently, the gubment is forcing them to pasteurize. I was told it’s very minimally pasteurized, and they are working to be able to sell raw milk again. Still, it’s only minimally pasteurized, and it’s not homogenized. It also still tastes as good as I remember.

I also make sure to grab some blackberry jam when I stop in. In addition to raw milk, or semi raw milk lol, they have a store in which they sell their own grass-fed beef, cheeses, oh and cream… How can I forget about the cream?! Along with a whole lot of other goodies!

Just a heads up before you go, a lot of work is being done on the main Claremore roads and you have to access businesses, including Swan Brothers from the back, which seems ironically analogous of their relationship to government!

I will digress and say, you should check them out, especially if you’ve never had raw milk before. Everybody is nice, and helpful. It’s a great place!
